Alan Myers suggests Everton could still be about to make two more signings before the transfer deadline

Everton are now less than a week away from ending their summer market which has so far seen five new players arrive at the club.

Sean Dyche‘s side has been bolstered, however, improvements were not on display over the weekend when Everton got their season up and running.

The Toffees could not have gotten off to a worse start against Brighton & Hove Albion with Dyche deciding to only start one of their new summer additions.

Kevin Thelwell has already been able to bring is five new signings but whether there are the funds to make any more additions before next week’s deadline is yet to be seen.

Everton are believed to be showing an interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler but the Spaniard is receiving interest from elsewhere.

With the clock ticking on Everton and the rest of the Premier League, Alan Myers has claimed there are two positions which could still be addressed.

Alan Myers predicts two Everton signings before deadline day

Although there has only been one game played in the new season, Everton are already being stretched in one position following that defeat to Brighton.

Everton went into the game with Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson both absent through injuries and then saw Ashley Young pick up a red card.

So it is no surprise to see Myers suggest Everton could be in line to add another full-back before the end of the window, but there could be another.

Taking to social media, the Sky Sports man has claimed there could be two new signings before the end of the window with a midfielder also of need to Dyche.

“Possibly a full back and a midfielder, who I have no idea,” he said.

This comes following Everton’s sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for a fee of £50m earlier in the summer.

Tim Iroegbunam has come in already this summer – and started on the weekend – but there is certainly a case to be made that Everton need more.

Everton need to add more to their squad before the deadline

What was seen on the weekend has to be of real concern to all of those surrounding Everton with frustrations visible after one game.

Dyche even had a pop at the Everton fans following the game as many left the stadium following a late substitution that saw Mason Holgate brought on.

But losing 3-0 against a Brighton side which were playing their first competitive game under their new manager was such a blow.

Everton had a strong end to their pre-season, but anything they had worked on seemingly went out of the window as they were put to one side by the Seagulls.

There’s still time to make some changes but it is a question of what resources Everton have at their disposal.
