David Moyes looks set to become the new Everton manager following the sacking of Sean Dyche.

A truly fresh start is being offered to the Everton fans on Merseyside with the new owners needing a new manager just weeks into their tenure.

The Friedkin Group are set to offer David Moyes a two-year contract after further talks were held on Friday at Finch Farm.

Everton are not in a great position in the Premier League with their next manager walking into a relegation battle.

But The Friedkin Group will want to secure their next manager quickly as Everton face Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur next week.

Everton initially offered Moyes a short-term deal, but Alan Shearer believes the Friedkins will have now provided even more interesting guarantees for Moyes to sign.

Alan Shearer expected David Moyes guarantee at Everton

Lee Carsley will not become Moyes’ Everton assistant as he searches for his own managerial position.

However, there will be some other demands on Merseyside which the Scotsman is expected to have demanded from the new owners.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer says he is expecting Moyes to have been promised transfers this month.

“I’m aware of he did an interview for BBC after a Match for the Day that I did with him, and he did say that he wants to get back into management, but he wants to have a real good chance,” said Shearer.

“He doesn’t really want to go into a relegation battle, and he doesn’t want to be firefighting all the time.

“But I think that’s why I think if he were to take this job, then he would have to have guarantees that they’re going to bring in a few in this window. Otherwise, I’m not sure he would actually take it.”

Players like Jake O’Brien will relish a new manager at Everton with the potential to start afresh following his summer move.

But given their position, Moyes will surely want fresh faces coming through the doors to bolster their squad.

David Moyes could contradict his recent comments

Former midfielder Charlie Adams says Moyes is not looking for a managerial job after recently speaking to the 60-year-old.

And that is not the only thing which Moyes could be about to contradict.

As Shearer alluded to, Moyes recently claimed he would not take on a side where he would be firefighting amid a relegation battle.

“I don’t want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times, so we will see how things go,” he told BBC Sport.

That is exactly what he is set to take on at Everton, although, The Friedkin Group are offering Everton stability for the first time in years.

And Everton fans must be enthused by Moyes holding out for a deal which does not run out at the end of the campaign.
