Everton are now in need of finding themselves a new manager following their sacking of Sean Dyche.
Heading into their FA Cup clash on Thursday night, Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman took charge of Everton for the evening.
The interim appointment of a current Everton player would suggest the club are looking to make a swift appointment.
Everton have a break in Premier League action for the weekend with Aston Villa making the trip to Merseyside next Wednesday.

The Friedkin Group are now looking for their next manager with two names coming to the fore early on.
Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Transfer Correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared the latest coming out of Goodison Park.

Everton set to appoint David Moyes
The Friedkin Group are now set to appoint David Moyes as their next manager to replace Dyche at Everton.
“I was told back in September, before the Friedkins came in, that David Moyes was the one man the club thought was best placed to come in,” said Bailey.
“Lots of options have been put to them and considered, but I am told Moyes is set to come in on deal until the summer – at which point the situation will be assessed.
“With Everton moving into the new stadium – it is essential they are playing Premier League football and they are confident that will happen under Moyes, they were not so sure under Sean Dyche.”
Earlier this week, the Friedkins spoke to Dyche about his position at the club with another disappointing defeat on the weekend against Bournemouth.
Although he will not be in charge against Peterborough United, Moyes is set to be in the dugout on Wednesday.

Jaden Philogene transfer did not help Dyche’s case
With the Toffees in need of some new players, this week did not get off to the best of starts.
Everton lost out to Ipswich Town in signing Jaden Philogene after the winger spoke to Kieran McKenna at Portman Road.
That is not something which has gone down well with the Everton owners with their rivals strengthening at their expense.
“I am told that one reason for the change is that Everton are worried about Ipswich’s improvement,” Bailey added.
“They have just seen them beat them to Philogene – are they guaranteed to finish above them as it was, I don’t believe the Friedkins believed this was the case.”
