Everton CEO Angus Kinnear has spoken publicly about the last 12 months at the football club.
Ahead of the final game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, Angus Kinnear has written a lengthy piece in the Official Matchday Programme.
Kinnear says the club are ‘happily dissatisfied’ about the campaign, as Everton could still qualify for Europe in the final two games.
Let us know your message to Seamus as he calls it a day as an Everton player… 🥲
The former Leeds United chief also discussed last summer’s transfer business and praised the additions of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
However, he made a pretty baffling comment about Thierno Barry, which Toffees supporters won’t fall for.

Angus Kinnear says Thierno Barry has potential to start for Everton
Kinnear seems to be pulling the wool over Everton fans’ eyes somewhat in his programme notes.
The 48-year-old insists that Barry has shown potential to be a starter, which quite simply isn’t the case at all.
In fact, many Toffees supporters have urged the club to sell Barry this summer and cut their losses while they have the chance.
Kinnear stated: “The squad construction, off a challenging base of only 12 contracted players in July 2025, has been largely successful.
Where does Thierno Barry go from here? This Everton fan has had ENOUGH! 😡
Second week in a row fans have been left furious
“Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall brought us immediate impact and quality, whilst Thierno Barry and Merlin Röhl have shown they have the potential to both be Everton starters, whilst highlighting the patience we need to exhibit if we are going to be serious about nurturing emerging talent.
“Equally important were the players we were able to re-sign with Michael Keane and Idrissa Gana Gueye returning to play central roles as regular starters.”
Merlin Rohl has certainly shown great potential, but Barry, as harsh as it sounds, just isn’t technically good enough to operate in the top half of the Premier League.
And, Moyes clearly thinks that too, as Everton are ‘fixated’ on signing a new striker just months after shelling out £30m on Barry.
AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott has been linked to the Toffees in recent months, and so too has Chelsea’s Liam Delap.
