Beto unlikely to start another game at Everton under David Moyes after recent development

Beto was among the starters as Everton played out a 0-0 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

David Moyes will surely not be pleased, as despite testing Martin Dubravka six times in goal, Everton failed to beat Burnley and climb up the Premier League table.

While there were positives from the game, the Scotsman expects his players to beat a side struggling in 19th place.

Beto endures another torrid afternoon for Everton

Things just do not appear to be falling into place for Beto at Everton.

The Guinea-Bissau international has made eight starts this season in the league and another ten appearances off the bench, but has found the back of the net just once.

He is averaging 778 minutes per goal in the Premier League, which is among the worst for strikers in the top flight this term.

Everton want a new striker in January. So, what should they do with Beto next month? 🤨

With the January transfer window around the corner, the game against the Clarets was Beto’s opportunity to show Moyes why he still deserves to be at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the second half of the season.

However, anyone who expected the striker to show up on Saturday afternoon went back home disappointed.

The 27-year-old had two glorious chances to find the back of the net, accumulating an xG of 0.87 (Sofascore), but failed to capitalise on any of them.

Apart from that, he failed to complete any of his two attempted dribbles and lost possession a colossal eleven times.

Beto also completed just seven passes and was rightly taken off by Moyes in the 70th minute.

Will Beto leave Everton in January?

Given his performances all season and also the most recent game against Burnley, there is a good chance that Moyes may not start him again this season.

With West Ham keen on Beto, the Toffees could facilitate a loan deal or even look to sell him permanently as the London outfit are battling relegation and could pay over the odds for him.

Everton want a striker in January and the former Udinese forward’s exit could pave the way for a new arrival in the coming weeks.

There remains a very good chance that Beto parts ways with the Merseyside outfit this winter.
