Everton are now winless in three games after failing to beat newly-promoted Burnley on Saturday.
The Toffees just didn’t get going against Burnley at Turf Moor, with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish sorely missed.
Tyler Dibling did look decent in his second Premier League start of the season, but Dwight McNeil was completely anonymous on the opposite flank.
What did you make of Tyler Dibling’s performance vs Burnley? 👏
He should have had an assist but Beto was not sharp enough to convert his cross 😫
James Garner was probably the best player on the pitch as he continues to be Everton’s most consistent performer.
David Moyes spoke to the media post-match and came out with some pretty worrying comments, which don’t make for great reading.

David Moyes comes out with negative comments after Everton fail to beat Burnley
Moyes wants Everton to qualify for Europe this season and has been very vocal about those ambitions, but speaking after the Burnley game, he came out with a very negative mindset.
When asked why the Toffees didn’t click against the relegation favourites, the Scotsman deflected it away from his own side and said it’s a very difficult fixture.
Is David Moyes too negative? 🤔
“They picked up a really good result against Bournemouth last week when they get a good draw down there.
“So I think they came into it with a bit of confidence, we just didn’t really get out of the blocks right from the start.”
That’s quite a concerning outlook on the result, as these are the must-win games if Everton are to qualify for Europe this term.
It’s not the first time Moyes has said something along these lines, and it certainly won’t go down well with sections of the fanbase.
Everton need more quality in the January transfer window
In fairness to Moyes, Everton were without many of their best players for the trip to Turf Moor, and it amplified the need for more quality to be added in the January transfer window.
The Toffees have been exploring a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson, who is on loan at Bayern Munich from Chelsea.
How many times have Everton had these given AGAINST them? 🤯
It's almost every week a decision goes against the Blues!
AS Roma’s Artem Dovbyk has also been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, so clearly, a striker is top of the list of priorities.
They certainly could’ve done with one of the aforementioned strikers against Burnley, but at least they managed to keep another clean sheet – their seventh of the season.
There are some positives to build on ahead of the trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening, which is actually the final game of 2025.
