Everton fans are hoping for a busy week on the transfers front.

David Moyes’ arrival at the club has given everyone a lift, with the Scot getting his first win on the board at the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton won 3-2 against Spurs, and put in a much improved performance at Goodison Park.

But the attention right now is on who Everton are going to bring in this month.

It’s thought Everton could sign two players by the end of the window, with a forward thought to be on the agenda.

And one man who’s been linked with Everton is Evan Ferguson. Today, ahead of Everton’s game with Brighton this weekend, Fabian Hurzeler was asked aboutFerguson’s potential to leave the club in the coming days.

Everton face a tough test this weekend against Brighton.

The Seagulls have once again enjoyed a good campaign in the top-flight and currently sit ninth.

Ferguson is a player who is attracting attention in the final days of the window, having not featured much this term under Hurzeler.

Today, the German was asked about Ferguson – and hinted a departure could be on the cards for him towards the end of the window.

He said (via The Argus): “Let’s see what happens.

“In the end in our offensive line there are still some players, not on the highest level, still some players suffering with small issues.

“Therefore we have to wait. Also, Evan is not fit yet so we still have some days until the window is closed and until then we have to figure out what is the situation at the moment, what do we need for the rest of the season and then also what do the players want and then it’s about making the decision together.”

Could Everton sign Ferguson?

So it sounds very much as though Hurzeler is happy for Ferguson to depart, or he surely would have said otherwise in his press conference.

It was reported earlier this week that Brighton will see how Ferguson gets on in training before making a decision on his future.

With Everton potentially set to cancel Armando Broja’s loan move, it could be that Everton are in the hunt for Ferguson – who’s been branded ‘phenomenal’ by James Milner (TNT Sports) in the coming days.

Supposedly, Ferguson would be open to a move to Everton, and he could provide some good competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
