Everton have now been told the asking price for one of their striker targets ahead of January, as their current options struggle to find the back of the net.

Another game went by on Monday in which David Moyes failed to see one of his strikers find the back of the net.

It has been a turbulent start to the season for Everton, who have seen their early season form tail off in recent weeks.

Goals have been the biggest issue for the Toffees, with Duncan Ferguson slamming Everton’s striker options on Monday evening.

Over the summer, Everton lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a free agent and replaced him with Thierno Barry.

Moyes was open to signing more strikers during the summer, but he will now be eyeing any opportunities for the winter market.

Everton eyeing Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus ahead of January

It has been suggested recently that Everton are interested in Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal ahead of January.

The Brazilian is nearing the end of his contract in north London, with the Gunners having moved on with the signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

Jesus is said to be considering his future with the World Cup coming up next summer, which will require him to showcase his talent once again.

Carlo Ancelotti has recently taken over as the Brazil national coach, and Jesus will need to impress the former Everton manager.

Another former Everton player, Richarlison, finds himself in a similar position of needing to impress his national side manager.

But it is Jesus who Everton are believed to be keen on, with Moyes sharing his disappointment in Beto in recent weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti could hold key to Everton move for Gabriel Jesus

Making his return from injury, Jesus has a lot to prove in a fairly short space of time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

The Brazilian has not played for his national side in almost two years, but Ancelotti’s appointment could offer him fresh hope.

If he is to stand any chance of a call-up, a move in January would surely be crucial, as he will not be starting ahead of Arsenal’s big-money summer signing.

Remaining in the Premier League could offer Jesus with an opportunity to play on the big stage, which would certainly be on Ancelotti’s radar.

Mikel Arteta previously hailed Jesus as ‘tremendous’, but he needs to show that again this season if he is to make it to the World Cup.

The key to Jesus’ 2025/26 campaign will be impressing Ancelotti, and that could be a huge boost to Everton’s chances of landing the striker.
