David Moyes might struggle to keep hold of a few assets in his team as the transfer window looms.

It’s a promising project at Everton under The Friedkin Group’s ownership, as major players could be attracted to the prospect this summer.

However, Moyes might also have to think about keeping hold of some integral players.

Everton could sell Jarrad Branthwate, as the defender has been the subject of serious interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

But there is one other star who Moyes has to keep hold of, and Chris Sutton thinks he’s the best at what he does in the Premier League.

Chris Sutton says Everton’s Jordan Pickford is ‘outstanding’

Jordan Pickford has been a fantastic servant to Everton through his passion, dedication to the team, and, of course, brilliant goalkeeping.

He showed this brilliance against Arsenal on Saturday as Tony Bellew labelled Pickford as ‘special’ after he made a wonder save against Leandro Trossard.

He can be seen as an underrated goalkeeper in the top flight, as many speak on the likes of Allison, Ederson, and David Raya being the best.

Well, speaking to the It’s All Kicking Off! podcast, Sutton believes there is a ‘debate’ that he’s better than one of those three.

“I think he’s been an outstanding goalkeeper for England. I don’t think he’s ever let them down,” Sutton said.

“You could have a debate he’s better than Ederson.”

Ederson is ‘Premier League’s best’ but Everton’s Pickford is in conversation

Normally, Everton don’t get to have players in these sorts of conversations, but Pickford deserves a shout.

The England shot-stopper has been the Toffees’ most consistent player for a while now and proved that vs Arsenal.

There’s a reason Bayern Munich were interested in Pickford, as the 31-year-old certainly deserves a claim of being the top goalkeeper in the Premier League.

Legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel claimed that Man City’s Ederson is the ‘best keeper in the Premier League’ (The Overlap), but Pickford might have something to say about that.

If a great keeper like Schmeichel thinks Ederson is better, this season suggests it’s a landslide victory for Everton’s number one.

Moyes is to thank for Pickford’s arrival and now he’s performing to the best of his ability under the Scotsman and has every right to be in the conversation of the league’s best.
