Cristiano Ronaldo will not approve of Everton’s latest target before Monday’s deadline

Everton are still in desperate need of some January additions, but the clock is ticking on the Toffees ahead of the deadline on Monday evening.

It has been a difficult run of late for Everton, with results far from where the club would like them to be since the start of December.

David Moyes will be feeling a big opportunity has been missed to really throw the Blues into the European spots.

The Scot has made no secret of his desire to add this month as Moyes admitted Everton may not make a signing before the deadline.

Goals have been a big issue for the Blues this season and, despite Thierno Barry’s recent form, more firepower is needed.

With days remaining until the deadline, Everton are now eyeing a player that left Cristiano Ronaldo absolutely furious recently.

Everton eyeing move for Al-Nassr forward Wesley

It has been suggested that Everton are eyeing Wesley Gassova from Al-Nassr ahead of the deadline next week.

Do we really need a winger over a full-back or striker? 🤔

The left-winger has been playing his football in the Saudi Pro League since leaving Corinthians back in 2023.

Naturally, he has played a number of games alongside Cristiano Ronaldo over in Saudi, but the Portuguese icon may not be his biggest fan.

During a recent game in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo could be seen berating the young Brazilian for not following in a cross.

The 40-year-old was left absolutely furious with Wesley and made no secret of his emotions in front of the thousands watching.

Clearly, Wesley still has a lot to work on, which may put him in a similar spot as Tyler Dibling if he were to make the move.

Everton are keen to sign more attacking players, but Moyes will be focused on only adding players that actually improve his squad.

Everton need proven players in January

The example of Dibling should act as a warning to those at Everton that they need proven quality this month for the remainder of the season.

Everton are dreaming of a European finish and they are still only a matter of points off those places, but they need to add this week if they are going to achieve that.

Clearly, Wesley is not a proven forward in Europe, which does beg the question of what impact he could even have on this Everton side in the remaining months.

Considering the Friedkins are spending with AS Roma during this window, there may be some slightly underwhelmed Everton fans.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers says the Friedkins are focusing on the summer, but a big opportunity may be passing them by right now.
