Everton are looking to take some major steps forwards over the coming months both on and off the pitch.

The Friedkin Group could not have asked for much more from David Moyes’ appointment.

After six Premier League games in charge, the 61-year-old has been able to guide Everton to four wins, one draw and one loss.

A seriously impressive turnaround has helped the Toffees to pull clear of the relegation zone with one eye already on the summer.

Kevin Thelwell has mooted an exciting summer at Everton with the Blues holding more PSR freedom following a strict January.

It is not just the transfer window which fans will have to look forward too, though.

There is also work going on behind the scenes to provide Everton with some real opportunities to continue their financial growth.

Everton in talks over USA pre-season tournament

It has been suggested Everton are in talks over a pre-season trip to the United States to feature in the Premier League’s Summer Series.

Although nothing has been officially signed off, this could provide the Blues a real financial boost.

This would be a real change from what Everton experienced under Sean Dyche last summer.

Under the former Everton manager, the Toffees were restricted to spending their pre-season inside the United Kingdom – with the exception of the game against Sligo Rovers.

According to The Guardian, Dyche felt there was more value in Everton not going abroad for their pre-season tour.

That is something which did not exactly pay off with the results leaving a lot to be desired throughout the opening months of the season.

So, not only did Everton endure a difficult summer and a disappointing first half of the season, but they also missed out on the chance to generate some big revenue from a pre-season tour.

Everton hope the new stadium will provide a £17m revenue increase an it is events like the Summer Series which provide an easy financial boost for clubs like Everton.

Considering the state of the club’s finances over recent years, the fact Farhad Moshiri approved the decision from Dyche sums up the struggles endured on Merseyside.

Everton are progressing from Sean Dyche’s tenure

In just over a month, Moyes has been able to return more wins in the Premier League than Dyche did in the opening five months of the season.

Everton players have already broken Dyche’s rule of no snoods in training which he implemented during his time at the club.

And the general mood around the club feels a lot more positive now the Friedkins have moved on from the 53-year-old.

Jake O’Brien is one of the players to really benefit from Moyes’ appointment with the defender already flourishing under the Scotsman.

But the rule set by Dyche of not leaving England last summer is one which is not in line with where modern Premier League sides need to be aiming financially.

The decision did not benefit Everton in a footballing sense, and it certainly will not have boosted the club financially.
