Everton have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer window.

David Moyes will be pleased to see the end of the season with the Toffees having only claimed one win in their last 10 games.

Considering the start Everton made under the 62-year-old, recent results have certainly been somewhat underwhelming.

Premier League survival was the only objective and Moyes has been able to secure that for their upcoming move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Now it is time for investment and the Friedkins are ready to inject cash into Everton during the summer transfer window.

Moyes will be desperate to finally bring in some players of his choosing after only seeing the loan signing of Carlos Alcaraz made in the January market.

Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has said there is one player who Moyes would be keen to sign this summer.

David Moyes wants to bring John Stones back to Everton

A number of homecomings are being mooted ahead of the summer transfer window.

Everton are interested in Richarlison this summer and could make a move to bring him back to Merseyside from Tottenham Hotspur.

He is not the only player on their radar, with Bailey informing Everton News of the possibility of John Stones making the move to Bramley-Moore Dock from Manchester City.

“John Stones is set to be available this summer and a number of clubs are keen,” he said.

“However, the issue with Stones and the major reason he is available is his injury record, he has barely started a dozen league games over the last two seasons and that is a concern.

“Would David Moyes and Everton like John Stones, the simple answer is yes, but it is not that simple. If he is on the market they are a club to watch.”

Everton would like to add a new defender to their squad this summer with Michael Keane set to leave the club.

The question may be where Stones would fit in given his dismal injury record of late.

What David Moyes has said about John Stones

Stones is heading into the summer window with just one-year remaining on his current deal with Manchester City.

He is a player who is incredibly well thought of on Merseyside with Jordan Pickford praising Stones during the recent England camp.

The issue lies in his dreadful injury record.

However, speaking about the defender in a past press conference, Moyes had a lot of positive things to say about the City defender.

“John Stones – we brought from Barnsley. We saw someone who was naturally comfortable on the ball. What he needed to develop was his defending. He got that at Everton,” he said.

“Since then he’s gone on to show he’s a top quality defender. He could play for any team.”
