Everton’s injury issues have left the club with a mammoth task ahead of them in the January transfer window.

An easy requirement could be ticked off the list by recalling Harrison Armstrong next month from his loan at Preston North End.

David Moyes has been a regular in watching the Everton youngster in action at Deepdale under manager Paul Heckingbottom.

During his time in Lancashire, Armstrong has received rave reviews from Heckingbottom and the Preston fans.

However, a decision is going to have to be made on his future and it seems as if Moyes has now made that clear following the game against Nottingham Forest.

“More than likely, we will bring Harrison Armstrong back,” said the 62-year-old.

This news comes on the back of Everton losing Charly Alcaraz to injury ahead of the trip to the City Ground on Tuesday night.

It has been a dreadful few weeks for Everton when it comes to injuries, but it looks as if help is now on the way in the form of their 18-year-old prospect.

Armstrong has to play at Everton to continue developing

Angus Kinnear mooted recalling Armstrong just a matter of days ago in his message to the fans as the end of the year nears.

It is a decision that has been forced upon Everton due to the ongoing injury issues on Merseyside.

However, Armstrong is developing nicely at Deepdale and he has become a regular in the Championship.

To continue his development he simply has to continue playing regular football, but that is going to be a tough ask given how well James Garner is playing.

Tim Iroegbunam is also impressing for Everton, which is going to create a real challenge for Armstrong to earn regular Premier League playing time.
