Thierno Barry has endured a tough start to his Everton career since joining from Villarreal in the summer transfer window.
Everton shelled out £30m on Thierno Barry’s signature after his impressive 19-goal season with Basel and Villarreal.
Barry arrived with great fanfare and big things were expected from the towering centre-forward, however, it’s not really gone to plan so far.
Toffees fans haven’t really been impressed by Barry’s performances even if he has shown some signs of improvement in recent weeks.
And now David Moyes has made a brutally honest comment about the Frenchman ahead of the fast-approaching January transfer window.

David Moyes admits Thierno Barry just hasn’t been good enough
Barry was actually dropped for the trip to Burnley on Saturday having scored just one Premier League goal all season.
Beto was preferred over him but he didn’t take his chance either, leaving Moyes with no choice but to assess the striking market ahead of the winter window.
Beto got his long-awaited start, did he do enough to keep Thierno Barry on the bench? 🧐
Speaking after the Burnley clash, the Toffees manager was asked about Barry and admitted that he’s quite simply not been good enough despite showing some flashes.
“I think he’s played well in some games, even today when he came on, the keeper makes a really good save from him” Moyes explained.
“But, yeah, look, I think he’s improved. We’ve tried to give him a run of games to give him that confidence and give him a chance to show what he can do.
“But ultimately, any of the centre-forwards we’ve got have got to score goals because you need that as a number nine. I think he’s got one and Beto’s got one as well, so that’s not good enough and we need to find more goals.”
David Moyes’ comments show he wants to sign a striker
Moyes has been defending Barry and Beto all season, but it now seems as though he’s growing frustrated with their lack of output.
It’s appears the Scotsman is making a public plea for a new centre-forward in January and Everton have been looking at multiple options.
The Toffees are showing an interest in Nicolas Jackson, whilst there have been rumours linking Troy Parrott to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Who would you rather Everton sign, Artem Dovbyk or Nicolas Jackson?
AS Roma’s Artem Dovbyk is also on Moyes’ radar and interestingly, there has been suggestion that Richarlison is open to a return to Merseyside.
A telling January awaits Everton.
