Everton are now looking to cap off their summer transfer window with some further additions in the final six days.

The signing of Tyler Dibling was a big requirement ticked off Angus Kinnear’s to-do list on Merseyside.

Now, Everton are looking to add to their midfield and defence with some last-minute deals before the deadline on Monday.

David Moyes is delighted to get the deal for Dibling over the line, but make no mistake, he will still be pushing for as many signings as he can get.

The weekend saw Moyes hail James Garner for his display against Brighton, but the search goes on for more midfield recruits.

And there is one player who Moyes absolutely adores, whom he is now pushing to land in the final week of the window.

David Moyes is pushing Everton to sign West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta

Everton are battling West Ham for Yves Bissouma, who looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days.

However, the Blues could potentially allow the Hammers to win that race, with a player from the Irons of real interest to Moyes.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are one of the sides who could make a late swoop for Brazil international Lucas Paqueta.

It is reported that Moyes is a huge fan of the midfielder, who, alongside Jarrod Bowen, is the standout star in the West Ham side.

A difficult season lies ahead for the Hammers, and Moyes could hand Paqueta a lifeline in joining him at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Jack Grealish has admitted he’s back to enjoying football again on the back of his full debut for Everton on Sunday.

And this could well act as a real positive for the Blues, who are looking to attract top-quality players before the deadline on Monday.

Having seen how much Grealish is enjoying himself, Everton could be looking like a much more attractive outfit to players like Paqueta.

What David Moyes previously said about Lucas Paqueta

Like a number of Everton targets, Paqueta has already played under Moyes during their time together at West Ham.

Everton have also eyed Tomas Soucek this summer, but the Brazilian midfielder is another of interest to Moyes.

During their time at the London Stadium, Moyes had some serious praise to lavish on Paqueta.

“He’s fearless in the passes he wants to play. We talk about people like Paul Scholes over the years and Glenn Hoddle, I’m not putting him in that level with his passing, but he’s willing to take those passes on,” said Moyes back in 2023.

Although Paqueta was likened to the Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes actually shared his own praise of Tyler Dibling just before he inked his Everton deal.

Adding a player of Paqueta’s quality in the final days of this window would be a huge statement from The Friedkin Group.
