David Moyes and Tomas Soucek fuel transfer speculation with full-time incident after Everton vs West Ham

Everton fans who stayed up on Wednesday evening were left disappointed with another pre-season defeat.

West Ham United secured the victory in Chicago against their former manager, David Moyes.

There is a lot of work to do for Everton both on and off the pitch ahead of the 2025/26 campaign starting in a matter of weeks.

Moyes has publicly demanded more Everton signings whilst away on the United States tour.

The Friedkins and Angus Kinnear are looking to provide the 62-year-old with the players he wants, but it is not proving easy in the slightest.

Given their history together, it is believed Moyes is keen to sign Tomas Soucek for Everton, and what they were spotted doing at full-time will interest fans.

David Moyes spotted with Tomas Soucek after Everton’s West Ham defeat

Earlier this month, it was suggested that Everton were lining up a bid for Soucek, but it remains to be seen whether the Blues make their move.

The Czech international is someone who Moyes knows incredibly well having brought him to England from Slavia Prague.

Following full time at Soldier Field, the broadcast camera panned to Moyes who had quickly found Soucek on the pitch.

After hugging, the pair could be seen deep in conversation amid the speculation over a potential move to Merseyside for the midfielder.

Some Everton fans do not want to sign Soucek this summer, as the Friedkins aim to make some big improvements in the market.

Changes are being made at both clubs, and it has been claimed West Ham would be open to selling Soucek if the right bid were to land.

With Everton keen to make signings quickly, it will be interesting to know what Moyes was talking about.

Everton have their eyes on another midfielder

Speculation surrounding Soucek and Everton will have been expected this summer due to the relationship between him and Moyes.

Everton are keen to secure Douglas Luiz’s signature over the coming weeks.

The Brazilian midfielder looks set to depart Juventus this summer and Luiz has even skipped Juventus training to try and force an exit.

But competition for Luiz is extremely strong, which will leave the likes of Kinnear keeping an eye on his radar for potential alternatives.
