Everton loanee Tyrique George may need convincing if he is to sign permanently this summer.

After his initial loan stint on Merseyside, Everton hold the option to make the winger’s stay permanent.

However, there is now a concern that George’s lack of opportunities under David Moyes is proving a sticking point in negotiations.

It was apparent throughout the second half of the season that George was not trusted to play regularly by Moyes, and that could now come back to bite Everton.

David Moyes’ handling of Tyrique George is costing Everton

Everton are hoping to pay a lower fee for George this summer despite already agreeing a set figure with Chelsea back in January.

This comes after the £20m-rated youngster’s lack of game time to prove his worth under Moyes, but that in itself is also proving an issue on the player’s side.

“George wasn’t overly convinced by the lack of minutes and consistent game time previously, which has played a role in slowing things down,” said The Bobble on A View From The Bullens.

“From Chelsea’s side, the situation is fairly open.”

Since making the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium over the winter, George played just 210 minutes across 11 appearances.

Xabi Alonso does not want George loaned out again, but the prospect of returning to Merseyside is not proving an instant hit with the winger.

George started just once under Moyes, which is not what he will have been expecting after making the loan move from Stamford Bridge.

This has been a familiar story for a number of Everton’s youngsters this season.

Hayden Hackney remains keen to join Everton, but the lack of trust in Moyes appears to be proving an issue in the pursuit of George.
