David Moyes will be hoping The Friedkin Group stick to their promise of spending big this summer.

The 1-0 defeat to Chelsea exemplified exactly why players are needed as the squad is still lacking the ability to stay consistent.

It was a brilliant start to Moyes’ return but now cracks are beginning to appear with two defeats on the bounce.

This doesn’t tell the full story though as Moyes has galvanised the club with a complete change in attitude since Sean Dyche’s tenure.

Saying this, Moyes can’t trust Nathan Patterson, and now the Everton boss might have lost trust in a few more players.

David Moyes spotted fuming with James Garner in Everton defeat

Despite two defeats in a row, it has to be said that they were tricky encounters against Man City and Chelsea.

Everton fans will probably just want to get into the next season as excitement awaits under The Friedkin Group.

But Moyes still wants to end the season strongly, and after a major error went against Everton, he carried his fury into what James Garner kept doing.

Journalist, Patrick Boyland could see Moyes with his head in his hands ‘again’ as Garner’s corners kept going straight into Sanchez’s arms, which was a trend that cropped up during the defeat on Saturday afternoon.

Pressure building on Garner at Everton

Moyes will know what’s needed as soon as Dwight McNeil is back to full fitness.

Garner’s deliveries weren’t up to the standard in the slightest, and when you have the towers of Jarrad Branthwaite and Jake O’Brien, it doesn’t make matters any better.

Normally Garner is a consistent player for Everton but he has shown he’s faults in recent weeks.

In won’t be doing him or Moyes any favours that he’s on the set-pieces, as Everton fans aren’t convinced with Garner, and the needless deliveries will just heap more pressure on the midfielder.
