David Moyes’ start at Everton has made a complete mockery of what Sean Dyche said to the Friedkins

Everton are now locked in for the remaining months of the 2024/25 season with Premier League survival on their mind.

More could have been done in the winter window with only one player arriving on Merseyside.

Carlos Alcaraz has promised Everton fans to give his all after landing on loan with the Toffees holding the option to buy him in the summer.

However, Moyes is going to have to hope for no further injury issues with Everton already missing a number of their regular starters.

Despite these injury issues, Everton have been able to make a bright start under the 61-year-old with their FA Cup fourth round clash coming up this weekend.

And what he has been able to do with this Everton side has made a complete mockery of Sean Dyche’s recent comments.

What Sean Dyche told the Friedkins before Everton sack

After landing on Merseyside, the Friedkins looked to sack Dyche with results far from where they wanted them to be.

And after a number of weeks at the club, Everton finally decided to make the managerial change.

According to The Athletic, Dyche told The Friedkin Group he had taken the group of players he had as far as he could.

The 53-year-old was then sacked just a matter of days later, hours before their FA Cup clash against Peterborough United.

Jake O’Brien was seemingly delighted to hear of Dyche’s sacking and the Ireland international has shown exactly what he is capable of offering.

It is a decision which the club have not looked back on with any regret.

David Moyes has transformed Everton

Under Moyes, the Friedkins have been shown what can be done with this group of players.

Besides the obvious in O’Brien, Moyes has also provided Beto with a fresh lease of life over the weekend.

Of course, the opportunity has come through injuries, but Everton fans loved Beto’s display against Leicester City on Saturday.

Moyes played to the Portuguese striker’s strengths and that paid off in what was an emphatic display from the Toffees.

It has taken Moyes just four Premier League games to match Dyche’s tally of three league wins for the campaign.

The 53-year-old may have done well under the circumstances, but Moyes has made a total mockery of Dyche’s comments about the group of players he had.
