Everton are looking to bolster their squad for next season – and David Moyes could find one of his long-standing targets is now much cheaper.

The Toffees had an awful end to last season, finishing with seven games without a win.

There is now pressure from the fanbase to respond by having a productive summer, to boost the quality and depth of the squad.

Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔

Everton ended up finishing 13th in the table in 2025/26.

Failure to get it right this summer could see the club slip towards the relegation zone, rather than keep pace with rivals and push for Europe.

One player Everton have been credited with an interest in is Jarrod Bowen – who has actually been on Moyes’ radar since last summer.

According to Sky Sports, Moyes actually wanted to sign Bowen from West Ham United last summer.

It’s stated that the Scot was ready to shell out as much as £60 million to sign the Hammers skipper.

That would have exceeded the £50 million paid for Richarlison in 2018 and made Bowen the club’s record signing.

In the end, though, Everton did move to sign Tyler Dibling and unfortunately, that move has not worked out yet.

Everton paid around £40 million for the youngster, but Moyes has shown a worrying lack of faith in him so far.

Of course, with West Ham suffering relegation, Bowen’s valuation will not be £60 million this summer.

West Ham would prefer to keep him, but they have to be realistic. Bowen is a Premier League player and has given years of service and loyalty.

If he turns around and pushes to leave, the club won’t have much choice other than to sell.

Interest in Bowen is obviously high.

It’s been claimed that the player is settled in London and loves life in the capital, which could make it tricky for Everton.

But obviously there is the Moyes factor, which has to count for something.

Bowen has raved about Moyes in the past and given him great credit in helping him to become the player he is today.

We will see if Everton decide to launch a pursuit.
