Everton need to make up their mind on Hayden Hackney as their alternative target is now being eyed by Leeds United.

A midfield addition is firmly on Everton’s radar as the Toffees continue to work on a possible contract extension for Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Hackney is keen to join Everton following positive talks with Angus Kinnear and the recruitment team on Merseyside.

If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰

Everton at risk of losing out on their midfield targets

Although the Toffees are keen to sign the Boro midfielder, Everton and Middlesbrough have not agreed a deal for Hackney just yet.

Crystal Palace are looking to rival Everton for Hackney, with the Toffees failing to push forward in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

The Daily Mail have now suggested that Leeds United are considering an opening bid for the £20m-rated Charles.

How would you feel about Hayden Hackney becoming Everton’s first signing? 🤩

Although the Southampton midfielder may not be top of Everton’s radar, seeing another target potentially taken off the board will place a lot of pressure on them to secure Hackney.

Perhaps that is what is needed to push Everton along in their pursuit of Hackney.

Everton remain in pole position for Hackney, but negotiations with Boro are proving somewhat of a sticking point.

Over two weeks have now passed since an agreement was struck on the player’s side, which will naturally have some supporters feeling as if the club are stalling.

Rangers are also interested in Charles but it is apparent that interest is quickly starting to grow following their failure to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Everton must take some warning from the interest arriving in Charles as it could cause some serious embarrassment if the Blues miss out on Hackney.
