The latest update has been given by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as Everton look to capture Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in some capacity this January.
In what is set to be a busy final few weeks of the transfer window, Everton could be busy as the deadline closes on February 3rd.
David Moyes will no doubt be looking to improve the Toffees’ squad despite an impressive display against Tottenham on Sunday.
Moyes hopes to spend £40m at Everton as Dewsbury-Hall could fit into that category for the Everton boss to improve his midfield.
With the midfielder out of favour, Everton fans really want Dewsbury-Hall as Chelsea boss Maresca has revealed the latest.

Enzo Maresca shares the chances of Everton signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
The Toffees have had midfield issues this season, as despite having success on Sunday, Moyes might still believe they need someone of Dewsbury-Hall’s stature.
After signing at Chelsea from Leicester City for £30 million, the 26-year-old hasn’t quite been able to remain a consistent placeholder in Maresca’s side.
As part of their transfer process, The Friedkin Group are targeting a midfielder and for someone of Dewsbury-Hall’s price, it could be the perfect match, as Maresca revealed the midfielder’s current situation.
In his post-match press conference after Chelsea’s 3-1 victory against Wolves, Maresca said: “We won’t take the decision because of the injuries.
“The intention is to keep him, but in January anything can happen.”

Everton target Dewsbury-Hall labelled as ‘fantastic’ whilst at Leicester
The midfielder has so far only played six times in the Premier League for the Blues, but grabbed an assist for Marc Cucurella’s goal against Wolves on Monday night.
| Dewsbury-Hall’s statistics in Chelsea 3-1 Wolves | |
| Minutes played | 77 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Accurate passes % | 31/33 (94%) |
| Touches in opposition box | 7 |
| Final third passes | 3 |
| Tackles won % | 2/2 (100%) |
The European stage has been Dewsbury-Hall’s chance, playing a major part in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League campaign scoring twice and assisting once, which may be why Maresca favours keeping him.
In 2022, the 26-year-old shined for Leicester in the Conference League so it’s becoming a common occurrence for him.
The Foxes triumphed over PSV in the Quarter-finals as their then-manager, Roger Schmidt, was asked in his post-match press conference who was most impressive from the Leicester side.
With the likes of Youri Tielamans and James Maddison on the pitch, Schmidt only had eyes for the ‘fantastic’ Dewsbury-Hall.
As the window’s exit looms, Moyes is looking at Kevin Thelwell’s transfer shortlist, and there is no doubt Dewsbury-Hall should be on there.
