The January transfer window is fast approaching and Everton could be set for a busy month.

Everton are set to be taken over by the Friedkin Group before the new year so there could be a cash injection this winter.

And with Sean Dyche’s men struggling in the Premier League, they may look to bring in a number of reinforcements, both in attack and defensively.

We exclusively reported that Everton are interested in Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey, though, that deal isn’t expected to materialise until next summer.

As well as incomings, there could be a few departures, too, and there’s just been a fresh update on an Everton star linked with the exit door this winter.

Juventus end pursuit of Everton striker Beto

Serie A giants Juventus have been credited with an interest in Beto in recent weeks, though, their pursuit of the forward is set to end.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who claim Juve have pulled out of the race to sign Beto due to Everton’s extortionate demands.

It’s not yet been revealed how much The Toffees were quoting for the out-of-favour frontman, however, considering he cost £30m, it’s expected they were keen to recoup most of that fee.

It’s highly unlikely they’ll be able to get a suitor who’s willing to pay anywhere close to that fee at the moment, so a loan departure seems the most likely outcome this winter.

The Friedkin Group plan to loan him Beto in January so he can revalue himself before being sold on in the summer window.

Beto could still turn things around at Everton

Whilst Beto is clearly unhappy with his minutes under Dyche, there’s still a chance he could turn his Everton career around.

Dyche admitted in a press conference earlier this month that he is closing the gap on current starter Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

“The margins are getting higher, though, I mean he’s (Beto) coming on, he’s affecting games,” the Everton boss explained.

“You know Dom has had chances and hasn’t scored, consistency a bit up and down, so it’s getting tighter.”
