If Beto leaves Everton, the Friedkin Group should reignite interest in £30m gem tipped to win Ballon d’Or

Everton are about to be taken over by the Friedkin Group, ending an uncertain period at Goodison Park.

The new ownership should be in post by the new year, allowing Everton to oversee incomings and outgoings in the January transfer window.

It should be a pretty busy month with reinforcements evidently needed as Sean Dyche’s men reside in 16th place.

There could be a few departures, too, with Beto keen to leave Everton for Serie A side Torino, or perhaps even Juventus.

If the forward does leave, the Friedkin Group should reinvest those funds in a wide player tipped to win the Ballon d’Or one day.

Everton should reignite interest in Wilfried Gnonto

If Beto is able to command a fee of around £20m this winter, the Friedkin Group should allocate those funds towards Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto.

Everton submitted a bid for Gnonto during the summer window but were unable to reach Leeds’ £30m valuation.

It was widely reported that the 20-year-old was really keen on joining Everton, so perhaps he’d still be open to making a move this winter.

Gnonto has made a productive start to the season, registering seven goal involvements in 15 outings, so his potential arrival on Merseyside would give Dyche much-needed quality off the flank.

Gnonto tipped to win Ballon d’Or

Gnonto’s former teammate Crysencio Summerville, who is now at West Ham United, has tipped the Leeds winger to win the Ballon d’Or one day.

“He’s a young player, you can see he’s full of talent,” Summerville told Voetbal International.

“(It’s quite impressive at) a very young age he does what he does. I think that he’s a very good asset for the team, and I think that he’s even still young enough that he can be a Ballon d’Or winner.”

High praise, indeed, but clearly if Everton were to land his signature, they’d be getting a supremely talented winger with bags of potential.

A telling January window awaits.
