Everton and Burnley are set to go head-to-head in the courtrooms over the summer over the compensation claim.
This is not what the Friedkins will have been wanting to deal with just months into their tenure at Everton.
But they are still cleaning up the mess left behind by Farhad Moshiri.
Some good work has gone into getting Everton back on track, and the Friedkins are ready to financially back David Moyes in the market.
Everton will be playing Premier League football next season and they will be doing so against Burnley.
The Clarets sealed their spot back in the top flight on Easter Monday, but they are still out for compensation this summer.
With the hearing edging closer, the two sides are at least agreeing on one thing already.

Everton and Burnley court hearing update
After hearing the news, Everton appointed top legal representation to appear for them in court against the Championship outfit.
Everton have become no strangers to legal hearings over recent years.
But, according to Sky Sports, the two clubs are both in agreement that they’d like the hearing to officially begin in July.
It is claimed the two will be represented in court on Tuesday and the next steps will be decided on by an independent panel.
Burnley are seeking compensation for Everton’s 10-point deduction in 2023 – which was reduced – as they believe it should have been implemented on the previous season.
Everton have been cited a £20m compensation figure by a financial expert, with West Ham and Sheffield United’s previous case used for reference.
It will be interesting to see whether these two sides are able to come to an agreement outside of the courtroom before July.
Burnley compensation claim will not damage Everton’s summer
Everton are in a much better financial position to what they were under Moshiri.
On Wednesday, Everton announced Christopher Sarofim as their latest investor, with the American billionaire joining the club’s ownership.
An exciting summer lies ahead for the Toffees and they will certainly need to be busy.
Everton are set to lose numerous players at the end of their contracts this summer, which will require a lot of players to come in as replacements.
PSR is not expected to be an issue any more at Everton with many fans eagerly awaiting the summer transfer window.
