Everton have just shared some major off-field news.

It has now been around four months since The Friedkin Group were handed the keys on Merseyside from Farhad Moshiri.

Time certainly flies and Everton are now finding themselves safe from relegation after the big decision was made to appoint David Moyes.

The Friedkins are gearing up for a big summer at Everton, with this their first real opportunity to invest in their club.

Considerable changes are set to unfold over the coming weeks, with Angus Kinnear set to join Everton as their new CEO.

And it seems as if the American owners are now looking to bring more new faces into the club with fresh investment.

Everton are ready for financial boosts to come through their new state-of-the-art stadium when they make the move this summer.

And they are now set for another boost through the arrival of Christopher Sarofim.

Everton announce Christopher Sarofim as new investor

The Friedkins have made a positive start at Everton as the club already looks in a much better state than what they took on.

Everton are ready to take on the American market, which is viewed as a ‘huge opportunity’ for the club to grow.

On Wednesday, Everton announced American billionaire Christopher Sarofim as their latest investor.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the ownership group of Everton – an historic sporting institution with a very exciting future,” he said.

“I have known and admired the Friedkin family for many years and I look forward to working with Marc Watts, The Friedkin Group and everyone at Everton to help the club fulfil its huge potential on and off the pitch.”

The Friedkins are looking to bring in new faces to help progress the club, and they are not looking to bring in celebrity names to boost the club.

And there are plenty of positives going for the addition of Sarofim.

Who is Everton investor Christopher Sarofim?

Sarofim has been eyed with a specific skill set and has gained personal wealth believed to be worth around $3.7bn (£3bn).

The Sarofim International Management is his family’s company and they manage assets worth a reported £23m.

It is apparent the 62-year-old has been specifically eyed up as he already has a background in sports.

Sarofim holds a minority stake in the NFL team the Houston Texans, which is seen across a number of Premier League sides like Arsenal, for example.

Clearly, this is someone who the Friedkins felt was a good fit to bring into the club.

“Christopher Sarofim is someone I have known and respected for many years. He brings experience, sound judgment and wisdom that will be valuable as we continue to drive the Club forward in all areas,” said Dan Friedkin.
