For years, Everton have been in financial trouble, leading to multiple PSR penalties.

Farhad Moshiri’s rash spending landed Everton in hot water with PSR, as they were given two points deductions last season.

But, after the Friedkin Group’s takeover in December, the Toffees are in a much healthier position and are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.

The American investors plan to back David Moyes with a healthy budget as they aim to return the club to Europe.

And, as a boost to their transfer kitty, UEFA have now paid Everton a seven-figure fee.

Everton bank seven-figure payout from UEFA

International breaks are often an inconvenience for Premier League clubs, as they risk losing a key player through injury.

Plus, all the travelling and added minutes in the legs can take it’s toll on their form when they return from their respective national team.

But, there is some benefit for the club, as they’re entitled to receive a payout from UEFA for releasing their players on international duty.

And now, according to UEFA, Everton have received £1,044,514.16 payout as a reward, so that’ll certainly please owner Dan Friedkin.

It’s not going to move the needle much with PSR and they are on much surer footing now anyway, but it’s extra income regardless, so it can only be a positive for the club.

Friedkin Group have big plans for the summer transfer window

Everton’s finances are in a great place now and as such, the Friedkin Group are planning a transformative summer transfer window.

Dan Friedkin wants to drive down the average age of Moyes’s squad, so they are expected to recruit a number of exciting young talents.

Sunderland teenager Chris Rigg is on the Toffees’ radar after his impressive performances in the Championship this season.

Moyes is also eyeing Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve, though, that deal may be difficult to pull off after their promotion.

Either way, it promises to be an exciting window for supporters.
