Everton boss David Moyes could reunite with striker who’s scored 72 Premier League goals

Everton are yet to make a signing this month.

Transfer deadline day is fast approaching with the window set to slam shut on February 3rd, so Everton need to get a move on.

David Moyes wants two signings through the door and it’s understood a striker is top of his wishlist following Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto’s injury.

Rangers forward Hamza Igamane has been linked to Goodison Park, though, they face competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton have also been looking at Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, who is available on a six-month loan deal.

The Merseysiders could turn to one of Moyes’ former forwards if they fail to land either of the aforementioned duo.

Everton could turn to Danny Ings

Everton are in the market for a centre-forward this month to provide competition to Beto, who is the only fit and available option at the moment.

Deals for Igamane and Ferguson are complicated and there’s plenty of competition for both, so as a backup plan, Everton could turn to West Ham United frontman Danny Ings.

Moyes signed Ings during his spell four and a half year spell in the capital, so clearly he admires his profile.

Ings, who is on the fringes this term, is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely available on a cut-price deal this month.

Whether that’s a signing that convinces Everton fans remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a viable deal to complete for the cash-strapped Toffees.

Ings’ stats under David Moyes

Ings wasn’t actually much of a success under Moyes, as evinced by his stats.

The former Liverpool man netted just four goals under his stewardship, so perhaps Moyes would be reluctant to bring him back to Merseyside.

Though, Ings’ 72 goals in the Premier League speak for itself. Give him a chance and more often than not he’ll take it.

That’s certainly what Everton need right now and a short-term fix seems the most likely deal to complete in the remaining five days of the window.
