Everton’s search for a new striker in January has seen the Toffees assess a number of options already.
It is Ivan Toney’s name which is being spoken about in recent days as David Moyes demands a more consistent source of goals.
Everton News understands that Everton do not expect Toney to sign in January, or even make a return to the Premier League.
Patience will be needed to see the best out of Thierno Barry despite his impressive showing at the weekend against Fulham.
Everton spent well over the summer, but they were only able to bring in Barry, with Moyes open to signing two strikers.
Speaking to Everton News, transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has now shared one striker who could come under consideration again on Merseyside in January.

Everton could consider Evan Ferguson move in January
During the summer window, Everton held an interest in Evan Ferguson, who has since made a move to AS Roma on loan.
It has not gone to plan for the Ireland international, with The Friedkin Group considering a move for Joshua Zirkzee in the Italian capital.
Discussing Everton’s options, Bailey has said that the Brighton & Hove Albion youngster cannot be discounted from a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
“Joshua Zirkzee could tie in for Everton, let’s not forget obviously a long-term target Evan Ferguson. If Zirkzee went to Rome, Evan Ferguson would get sent back to Brighton. He suddenly becomes available,” Bailey told Everton News.
“Could you see David Moyes taking Evan Ferguson with a view to buy? I really could. I think he would suit Moyes’ style of play and he’s a very good, young striker. So, I wouldn’t rule him out of the equation, but there’s lots of options out there for Everton.”
Ferguson is a striker who is needing to find his feet following his struggles with injuries in recent years.
After signing on loan in the summer, Ferguson made a bright start at Roma, but minutes in Serie A have been extremely limited.
January is an opportunistic market for clubs, and Ferguson is an opportunity that may well present itself to the Blues.
Ferguson needs regular football to develop
After providing an assist in his second Serie A appearance, it has been a real struggle for Ferguson to provide an impact in Rome.
Artem Dovbyk has proven a difficult man to uproot from the starting XI and injuries have caused the 21-year-old with issues.
It is easy to forget that Ferguson is still so young given how long he seems to have been on the scene.

Earlier in the year, Everton fans were keen to see Ferguson signed, but that may have since changed following the signing of the 23-year-old work in progress, Barry.
Everton may not be able to find the prolific answer they are looking for in January, but the Toffees are in the market to find a solution.
