With the transfer window opening on June 14th, Everton might have already secured their first summer signing.
David Moyes will probably be as excited as Everton fans when it comes to this window with the vast funds available to the club.
It’s been made clear, The Friedkin Group will spend this window, and it’s expected to be a game-changing summer.
With the chances that a lot of money will be thrown at signings, it’s better to get transfers secured early doors.
This is exactly what the hierarchy are doing, and one deal looks to be set in stone to happen.

Everton ‘close’ to signing Jerome Opoku in £3.4m deal
The success of this window is looking to be high, and thanks has to be given to Kevin Thelwell’s caution in January, which has avoided PSR scares.
With Thelwell coming up clutch, the Everton boss himself knew of these potential scares and gave a reason why Moyes didn’t sanction any more January signings.
Well now, it seems as though the world is Everton’s oyster, and the owners are ready to seriously improve Moyes’ assets.
This has been made clear through Everton target Jerome Opoku, as the Istanbul Basaksehir centre-back is keen on a return to England after starting his career with Fulham.
The Ghanaian has been one to watch out for, and now he could be the one who kicks off The Friedkins’ transfer proceedings.
According to Africa Foot, the Toffees have tabled an offer in the region of £3.4m for the defender, and that a move to England looks ‘close’.
Everton want to sign Opoku on a three-year contract and that they are now looking to finalise the finer details of the deal, in what would be an excellent deal to kickstart this summer.

What we know about Everton target Jerome Opoku
As Moyes is keen to add defenders, Opoku emerges as a fine signing to answer the Scotsman’s wishes.
The 26-year-old has only recently come to the surface in terms of Everton’s plans, but for £3.4m it’s looking like a superb bit of business.
As mentioned before, the Premier League wouldn’t be too far out of the defender’s comfort zone after starting at Fulham, and along the way he’s had some interesting experiences in Denmark and Portugal, and now, of course, enjoying his time in Turkey.
| Jerome Opoku’s career journey so far | |
| 2019-2022 | Fulham – 0 appearances |
| 2019/20 (loan) | Accrington Stanley – 25 appearances |
| 2020/21 (loan) | Plymouth Argyle – 38 appearances |
| 2021/22 (loan) | Velje BK – 26 appearances |
| 2022-2024 (free) | Arouca – 33 appearances |
| 2024-Now (£1.3m) | Basaksehir – 75 appearances |
The 6’5 defender would be a real threat in Moyes’ system through his aerial prowess and presence as a physical outlet, which is needed in the top flight.
He’s been impressing with Istanbul and has found himself as a regular in Ghana’s national team as he looks to be involved in the upcoming World Cup.
With serious change taking place at Everton, Opoku’s arrival would be a welcome addition for the new era.
