David Moyes is in the market for a centre-back this summer transfer window.
Everton are expected to be busy this summer, as the Friedkin Group plan to back David Moyes with a sizable budget.
The American investors want to lower Everton’s average age, so they’re set to recruit much younger talent.
That said, Moyes is eyeing Sunderland teenager Chris Rigg, who is valued at around £40m by the Championship promotion-hopefuls.
The Toffees are also looking at young left-back Victor Kristiansen to provide Vitaliy Mykolenko competition.
Now, a fresh transfer link has just emerged, this time linking Everton to a centre-back on the continent.

Everton scouts eye Jerome Opuku
Jarrad Branthwaite is being linked with a move to Manchester United, so it seems Everton are drawing up a list of potential replacements.
Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve is high up on Moyes’ wishlist, but that deal will now be difficult following their promotion.
That said, according to TEAMtalk, Everton scouts are eyeing a move for Basaksehir defender Jerome Opoku.
The 6ft 5 colossus came through the ranks at Fulham but is now impressing in Turkey’s top-flight and with Ghana.
Opoku has already given the green light to a move as he’s keen to make the move to the Premier League and the report states he’s one to ‘keep an eye out for’.
Opuku would be a cheap deal to do
TEAMtalk further add that Opoku, who is under contract until 2027, could be available for a relatively low transfer fee.
The 26-year-old only cost Basaksehir £1.2m last summer, so any return on that investment would be considered a good deal.
The potential signing of Opoku would likely be a supplement to a more expensive addition, like the £30m-rated Esteve.
With Michael Keane set to leave the club, Everton will need someone who’s of a decent standard but willing to play a squad role.
Opoku appears to fit that criteria.
