According to the Daily Mail, free agent Jesse Lingard has been in talks with various Premier League clubs this month.
Lingard left South Korean side FC Seoul at the start of the transfer window and has been on the lookout for his next opportunity.
There’s no word on whether Everton were the club that held talks with Lingard, but it wouldn’t at all be surprising if they were.

Moyes worked with Lingard at West Ham United, and the 32-cap England international flourished under his stewardship.
The Scotsman even allowed him to come back and train with the Hammers when he was a free agent in 2023, following his Nottingham Forest exit.
So, perhaps there is a small chance that Lingard could make a shock move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the deadline.

At this stage, it looks more likely that Lingard will end up moving to Serie A, as the report claims that he is in advanced talks to sign with a couple of clubs in Italy.
Indeed, that’s not to say Everton are out of the picture, as they may still offer him a short-term deal as cover for Grealish.
