Everton get green light to move for £31m star in January after Fabrizio Romano update

Everton have been given the chance to launch a move for a Premier League defender in January.

A defender perhaps isn’t at the top of Sean Dyche‘s list of signings at this moment in time, as Everton have only conceded once in their last four games.

However, there’s an air of uncertainty around Jarrad Branthwaite’s future at Everton, as although he is open to a new deal, the January transfer window is around the corner.

With Michael Keane, Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski and Branthwaite at the club, there isn’t too much of a need.

However, the Toffees have been given a boost if their reported interest in a certain central defender is true, as Fabrizio Romano has provided an update.

Manchester United open to offers for Victor Lindelof in January

Everton have been linked with a move for Victor Lindelof ahead of January.

The Swede has struggled to make any inroads at Manchester United in the current campaign, making nine appearances.

According to Fabrizio Romano, courtesy of Give Me Sport, Man Utd are open to proposals to bring in some extra cash mid-season for Victor Lindelof rather than losing him for nothing.

However, he’s unlikely to sign for Leicester City.

Would Victor Lindelof add much to Everton’s defence?

Signing Victor Lindelof seems slightly silly when you consider his lack of football and he’s already 30.

James Tarkowski and Michael Keane provide the experience at the back for the Toffees, but the latter’s contract situation is up in the air ahead of the summer, so perhaps that’s filtering into the thinking.

Lindelof has showed quality at times at Old Trafford, but you wouldn’t say he’s a player you can bank on giving you 38 good games in a season.
