The Premier League isn’t too far away now as Everton must start sanctioning more signings this summer.

Leeds United away is now just a month away, and Everton only have three transfers through the door.

Although some boxes have been ticked off, David Moyes won’t be pleased by the pace The Friedkin Group are moving at this summer.

Times are hopefully changing though, and Everton have four key positions on the shortlist.

One of these is now looking available, and the Toffees have the chance to move for a £26m deal.

Everton get green light for Florentino Luis as he looks to leave Benfica

The midfield is now being targeted by Moyes, with a number six and number eight the key areas in the pipeline.

Douglas Luiz will leave Juventus, giving Everton the chance to strike, with £10m more needed to cement the former Aston Villa star as a blockbuster signing.

That would be the eight position sorted, and now Moyes can look into the prospect of a new six, and it’s a very exciting deal.

Benfica star Florentino Luis has been on Everton’s radar, as despite his £100m release clause on the table, Moyes is ready to look into a £26m move, and it would be a welcome signature.

After Everton wanted Luis in 2024, the Scotsman is eager to make sure the 25-year-old signs, and over in Portugal, this will be approved.

Reliable Portuguese journalist, Nuno Farinha, spoke to CNN, which was relayed by Maisfutebol, and said that Luis is likely to leave Lisbon this window, whilst also giving Everton every reason to formulate a transfer.

“Florentino, when it comes to winning the ball back, is practically unbeatable,” Farinha said.

“There are very few players in Europe with his ball-recovery ability. On the ball, however, he doesn’t have the same tools Enzo Barrenechea possesses.

“Because of that, I believe Florentino realises his time at Estádio da Luz may be coming to an end.

“It’s true that he was very important for a long time. He won titles and played a key role in them. But it seems Benfica have been looking for ‘something more’ in that position for a while now.”

Everton could have sensational midfield pivot next season

With both Luis and Luiz now available to leave this summer, the Toffees could secure a double deal which just surpasses the £60m mark.

If The Friedkins want ambition, this is the way of going about this, and the potential it could have for Moyes’ plans is frightening, as both midfielders make the perfect pivot.

£100m was quoted for Everton to use, so this is still doable, and other areas could see cut-price deals come to fruition.

Moyes is building something very quietly behind the scenes, and if this is what comes out of the window, Evertonians should be very excited.
