Everton have signed Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal.

It is the signing all Everton fans had been waiting for, and Grealish is finally on Merseyside ready to go for the new season.

David Moyes has seen his patience tested this summer, but his squad is finally coming together at Finch Farm.

Everton were handed a £100m transfer budget, according to some reports, which meant they would have to be clever in the market.

Landing Grealish on loan will certainly prove a shrewd move by the Friedkins, with Angus Kinnear needing every penny he can get.

However, it is not a cheap loan deal, with Grealish believed to cost Everton around £12m in loan fees.

With an option to buy included, there has been a fresh claim that could well provide fans with encouragement that Grealish could potentially stick around beyond this season.

Everton yet to agree Jack Grealish buy fee with Man City

The 29-year-old is excited to get started on Merseyside, with Grealish admitting he spoke to Wayne Rooney ahead of the move.

A big season lies ahead for Grealish, who is fighting to get back amongst the England squad ahead of next year’s World Cup.

An impressive year could see Everton buy him, but according to BBC Sport, no fee has been agreed yet with Man City.

This comes after the suggestion that Everton could need to pay £50m to sign Grealish next summer.

But that appears not to be the case, with negotiations still ongoing over the buy clause in his deal.

It has to be said, £50m for a player who would be nearly 31-years-old this time next year would be a huge sum of money.

Grealish wants to emulate Rooney’s Everton success, but fans will want him to stick around for a little longer than just one season.

David Moyes was instrumental in Grealish signing for Everton

Moyes pushed to sign Grealish for Everton this summer, with the Toffees looking to land a statement signing.

Grealish had plenty of potential options like Tottenham Hotspur, but he has chosen to stay in the north west.

Even Alan Stubbs tried to persuade Grealish to join Everton after he met him on holiday this summer in Marbella.

But it was the 62-year-old manager who Grealish said won him over, with some glowing comments in his first interview.

“As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place that I wanted to go,” he said.

“On social media, I’ve been flooded with messages from Everton supporters, so there’s that side of it as well and that’s another reason why I chose Everton.”
