Everton have made their latest addition of the summer with Jack Grealish joining from Manchester City.

It had been a cautious start to the summer market, but the last week or so has really seen Everton take their foot off the brake.

David Moyes had demanded more signings, and the 62-year-old will be delighted to see his attacking options take a real boost over recent days.

Questions will remain as to how quickly Thierno Barry can hit the ground running on Merseyside, but the quality is being brought in around him.

There is a lot for Everton fans to be excited about, but Angus Kinnear is not looking to slow down on the back of the Grealish signing.

With Moyes’ demands being ticked off the list, Everton have turned their attention to signing another midfielder.

Everton eye move for Florentino Luis

Moyes is keen to sign a new winger this summer, with the likes of Tyler Dibling of interest to address their lack of options on the right.

However, other demands remain for Everton, who are still believed to be looking to add a midfielder.

According to Nicolo Schira, Everton remain interested in a potential swoop for the Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis.

Everton have shown interest in Luis already this summer, but have focused on addressing bigger priorities first.

Now, it could be time for the Blues to make their move.

Everton’s interest in Luis goes back to January, with the Toffees having also eyed other midfield targets in recent weeks.

Another player of interest to Everton is Douglas Luiz from Juventus, but that is a deal holding its own difficulties.

Florentino Luis could be Idrissa Gana Gueye’s replacement

Everton secured Idrissa Gana Gueye’s future to at least an extra year, with the option to extend a further 12 months.

However, in Luis, they could well have found their long-term replacement for the Senegal international.

Luis has proven himself to be a tackling machine over in Portugal, and the 25-year-old’s statistics show he could be exactly what Everton need to replace Gueye in the future.

James Garner has hailed Gueye for the influence he has on the current Everton squad, but he will need replacing at some point.

Luis could well be that player.
