Everton have been offered the opportunity to sign a striker who moulded his game off Romelu Lukaku.
It has probably been since Lukaku last played for Everton that fans have felt the Toffees had a reliable striker playing up front on Merseyside.
This summer’s transfer window will provide David Moyes and the recruitment staff with another opportunity to bolster their options, though.

It has been claimed that Everton have been offered Lois Openda, a Belgian striker, who modelled his own game off Lukaku.

Everton target Lois Openda grew up watching Romelu Lukaku
A new striker is on Everton’s agenda this summer following patchy campaigns from Beto and Thierno Barry.
What standard of striker the Blues are able to sign remains to be seen, but fans would love to see another forward of Lukaku’s ability on Merseyside.
Speaking at the 2024 Euros, Openda spoke about playing as second choice for Belgium behind Lukaku.
“I don’t feel any pressure, but Lukaku is here, he’s up front and doing the work,” said Openda.
How are we being punished again by the Premier League? 😡
Everton ordered to pay Burnley £40m in compensation…
“I watch all the goals Romelu scored for the national side. I also try to understand so I can do the same thing. Romelu and I have a slightly different style of play.”
Since making the move to Juventus last summer, Openda has experienced a tricky period, despite his previously solid career.
Big questions will be asked about the 26-year-old over any potential move to the Premier League after witnessing his struggles in Italy.
Openda’s best season came during his spell with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where he was able to return 24 goals and seven assists across the 2023/24 campaign.
Taking to TalkingPoints, a lot of Everton supporters have rejected the idea of re-signing Lukaku following recent reports.
However, the Blues do have an opportunity to sign his Belgian understudy in Openda.
