January additions are needed on Merseyside with Everton requiring a real injection of quality to pull them away from the foot end of the table.
Sean Dyche’s side saw their improved run of form come to an end over the weekend as the sides below them closed the gap on the Toffees.
Everton are now going into the latest round of games with just a two-point cushion on the bottom three.

Position 18 – 20 : Relegation
However, with new owners comes a fresh outlook on Merseyside and there is the expectation Everton will spend in the January transfer window.
And signings are certainly required with the Blues having only been able to convert three of their 18 games into victories this season.

Everton make bid for Norwich City’s Marcelino Nunez
Going into January, it is believed Everton are eyeing a new midfielder and forward to bolster Dyche’s options.
It seems as if no time is being wasted by the new owners with Kevin Thelwell having already made his move for one of their targets.
According to La Tercera, Everton have seen their opening bid for Marcelino Nunez rejected by Norwich City.
It is believed the bid in question is worth in the region of £7m and has been knocked back by Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper.
Injuries have been a real issue for Dyche this season with midfield one of the areas to have been heavily affected.
Tim Iroegbunam has now returned to training, but it seems the Toffees want a player who can instantly improve on what Dyche already has.
Who is Marcelino Nunez?
The 24-year-old midfielder born in Chile has been in fine form for the Canaries of late having become one of the first names on the team sheet.
Nunez made the move to Norfolk back in 2022 from his homeland where he has gone on to make 101 appearances for Norwich.
It has to be said he is not a goalscoring midfielder with a return of nine goals in those appearances, but he has received high praise.
His former manager David Wagner hailed the midfielder last season after a big win against Birmingham City.
“It was an unbelievable strike from ‘Nacho’ – and his overall performance was brilliant too, a real 10 out of 10,” Wagner told Sky Sports.
