Everton have entered the January transfer window with a selection of players who could be headed for the exit door.

Work is needing to be done at Goodison Park with Everton sitting just two points ahead of Ipswich Town who occupy 18th place.

It may only be two days into the window, but Everton are eyeing a new midfielder and forward as they look to hand Sean Dyche some improvements.

However, there are a couple of players who have recently departed Merseyside only to endure some real struggles with their new sides.

One of those is now looking set to make his third move in a matter of months since leaving the Toffees.

Lewis Dobbin set for third club since Everton exit

Dyche was a big fan of Lewis Dobbin, but the youngster made the move from Everton over the summer to join Aston Villa after their impressive 2023/24 season.

However, it is not a move which looks to be working out Everton academy product.

According to Sky Sports, winger Dobbin is not looking likely to join Championship side Norwich City on loan.

This comes after Dobbin joined Aston Villa in June for £10m from Everton before being loaned immediately out to West Bromwich Albion.

Kevin Thelwell was excited by Dobbin’s potential at Everton, but the Toffees chose to cash in amid their PSR concerns.

Lewis Dobbin may regret his Everton exit

Dobbin was hailed ‘outstanding’ by local media last year following his 11 appearances for Everton under Dyche.

The youngster was being handed some opportunities in the matchday side by the Everton boss, which has not been the case since leaving.

Having shown signs of progression into the thinking of Dyche, Dobbin has now taken a significant step back where he is looking for another Championship side to pick up minutes.

With £10m in the bank for the winger, it is looking like Farhad Moshiri came out on top in the deal agreed last year.

But given he is a product of the academy, Everton fans will be wishing Dobbin all the best.
