Deadline day is fast approaching and Everton are yet to make a signing.
The Friedkin Group have admitted they’re having to operate on a shrewd budget as PSR issues are still looming.
But that is expected to change in the summer when a new accounting year begins at the end of June.
For now, though, funds will have to be raised through player sales in order to strengthen David Moyes’ side.
And, Beto could be leaving for Italy if Torino agree to meet Everton’s £15m valuation of the towering centre-forward.
If that deal goes ahead, Everton could accelerate moves for a number of targets and with that said, a fresh rumour has just emerged about a former Premier League star they’ve held talks with.

Everton hold talks with agent of Emerson Royal
According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Everton have held talks with the agent of Emerson Royal this month.
The Toffees are in the market for a new right-back as they seek a long-term successor to Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young, who are both out of contract in the summer.
Fellow Premier League side Fulham have also been in contact, but it’s thought Emerson’s agent is just trying to offer him around.
Everton aren’t thought to have a concrete interest in Emerson and it seems he’s much more likely to join Galatasaray.
The Turkish outfit have already proposed a loan with an option to buy for around £12.6m for the former Tottenham Hotspur defender, who made 79 Premier League appearances before departing for AC Milan last summer.
Everton have enough depth at right-back for now
Everton really don’t need Emerson anyway as they have more than enough depth at right-back.
Ashley Young, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and James Garner have all operated in that role this season.
Indeed when Young and Coleman likely depart Goodison Park at the end of the season, then they’ll need to invest in a new right-back.
But certainly for this window, funds should be allocated towards attacking targets.
