Everton are one of numerous Premier League clubs showing an interest in Douglas Luiz this summer.

It has been the trend of Everton’s transfer window to face competition from some of their top-flight rivals.

David Moyes will be keen for the club to get a move on in the market as they prepare for their United States tour next week.

The Friedkins have handed Everton £100m to spend this summer, but it does not appear to be burning a hole in their pocket.

With Thierno Barry over the line, it is clear that Angus Kinnear and the new recruitment set-up are taking their time to find the right players.

Everton would like to sign a new midfielder before the season starts to add to the contract extension of Idrissa Gana Gueye.

And it seems as if an offer has now been submitted for one of their targets.

Everton submit offer for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz

It has been reported in recent days that Everton hold a strong interest in Douglas Luiz.

The Brazilian’s future in Turin looks like it’s hanging by a thread just 12 months on from his move away from Aston Villa.

According to Team Talk, Everton have now submitted their opening offer to Juventus for Luiz.

It is claimed Everton have submitted a loan bid, which includes the obligation to sign the Brazilian next summer.

The Serie A giants are ready to move Luiz on this summer, with the midfielder ready to return to the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola has previously raved about Luiz, after the player moved on from Manchester City for Villa a number of years ago.

Considering the Premier League experience Luiz holds, this is a deal which could make a lot of sense for Everton this summer.

Harrison Armstrong has a major point to prove at Everton

With the Blues eyeing a move for Luiz, it could concern Harrison Armstrong, who is looking to earn his spot under Moyes.

Armstrong really impressed Everton fans on Tuesday night in their friendly against Accrington Stanley.

The youngster is trying to break through into the plans on Merseyside following his loan spell with Derby County last season.

His task will be made even more difficult if the Toffees are able to acquire Luiz from Juventus.

But, with Armstrong set to play in the Summer Series, he can only control his own performances and hope it is enough to impress Moyes.
