Everton make decision on whether Jack Harrison will return to Leeds United in January

Everton could well be left with a lot of work to do when the January transfer window finally opens its doors.

It has not been the start to the season which any Everton fans will have been hoping for with the Toffees now just one spot ahead of the drop zone following Tuesday night’s action.

Wednesday night could prove huge for the Blues as they take on Wolves at Goodison Park with a loss taking them down into the bottom three.

And this comes amid their incredibly difficult run of fixtures which could see Sean Dyche’s side enter January in a potentially concerning position.

But the January window may not just provide Everton with an opportunity to bring in players with a number of player possibly heading for the exit.

Beto is receiving interest from Juventus ahead of the window but there could be more players set to be moved on.

Leeds United discover Everton’s January decision on Jack Harrison

According to Team Talk, Everton are not looking to send Jack Harrison back to Leeds United during the January window.

The winger is still believed to be viewed as an important member of Dyche’s squad on Merseyside despite his difficult start to the season.

Everton fans have criticised Harrison for his poor form which has seen the winger fail to return a single goal contribution this season.

It really has not been the start to the campaign which the 28-year-old would have hoped for with Jamie Carragher admitting he feels sorry for Harrison.

Despite having now lost his spot in the starting XI, Leeds are not expected to see the winger return to Yorkshire next month.

Jack Harrison well adrift of his Everton target

Coming into the season, Harrison told The Athletic of the ambitious targets he’d set for himself ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

“I’d have liked to contribute more goals and assists. If I can have 10 goals and 10 assists, it’s a good season,” he said over the summer.

Harrison was convinced by Kevin Thelwell to join Everton but the decision has not worked out for either party this season.

Now in December, Harrison is still waiting for his first goal or assist of the campaign having only returned four goals and three assists last term.

Despite Dyche claiming Harrison looked sharp during pre-season, the winger has left a lot to be desired on the pitch.

And with The Friedkin Group close to taking over Everton, it has to be a position of concern for the prospective new owners.
