Everton are heading into the January transfer window in serious need of goals despite the spending on show over the summer.
David Moyes was aware that not every need could be ticked off over the space of just one summer window.
The Everton boss was handed nine new signings by The Friedkin Group, but the club’s squad depth is already looking thin.
Everton News understands that Everton are keen to sign another striker in the January transfer market.
Thierno Barry may be off the mark in the Premier League, but more is going to be needed if the Blues are to mount a serious challenge for Europe.
With a new striker on the radar for the Blues in January, there has now been word of a potential exit for a current Everton forward in the coming weeks.

The Friedkins could offer Beto Everton departure in January
Everton News reported last month that Beto could be sold by Everton when the January window opens for business.
The 27-year-old has only been able to find the back of the net once this season in the Premier League and has fallen in Moyes’ pecking order.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Beto is now an option for Everton’s sister club, AS Roma, in January.
Everton want a new striker in January. So, what should they do with Beto next month? 🤨
The Italian club are also looking to strengthen their options up front and the Everton man is just one of the options.
It is also understood that Roma would like to sign Joshua Zirkzee; a player who is also on Everton’s radar for the winter market.
This could provide Beto with a return to Italy, where he could play under Gian Piero Gasperini in the Europa League with Roma.
Although Everton do not fear PSR any more under the Friedkins, the sale of Beto could provide some funds to be redistributed in January.
Everton need more than two strikers for David Moyes
During the summer transfer window, Moyes was keen to sign two new strikers, but he was forced to settle for Barry.
A lot was needed in the summer and that saw funds placed elsewhere to provide the Everton manager with players across multiple positions.
How much could Everton realistically get for Beto in January? 😬
Or should he even be starting ahead of Thierno Barry?
However, the goals are still coming at a premium from Everton’s strikers and more quality will be needed in January.
Everton News understands that Everton cannot be ruled out of signing Evan Ferguson, but he is just one of the names on the radar.
If Beto does depart in the coming weeks, it will raise the question of whether Everton will then require more than one striker signing in January.
