Everton have identified a young striker as a summer target who has been compared to Jamie Vardy.

David Moyes enjoyed an immediate response from Beto after placing the striker in the starting XI on Merseyside.

However, there have been some issues of late, as Beto’s form has dropped over the last two months.

Everton are well aware they need to sign a new striker in the summer, with attacking options set to leave the club.

As well as their own contract issues, Everton are set to wave goodbye to Armando Broja.

It is expected Broja will return to Chelsea at the end of the season and the Blues think there’ll be serious interest in his signature from abroad.

With uncertainty lingering around L4, Everton have now identified a young talent they believe could be a real coup.

Everton eyeing AS Monaco striker Mika Biereth

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave Everton as he has failed to ink any of the new contracts offered to him by the club.

This will put a real pressure on the Friedkins to provide Moyes with adequate backing in the transfer window.

According to Team Talk, Everton have now identified the young AS Monaco striker Mika Biereth as a transfer target for the summer.

The 22-year-old only joined the Ligue 1 side in January after making the move from Sturm Graz.

Everton are aware this will make any negotiations for the former Arsenal striker incredibly difficult, and likely expensive.

The report now says Everton have registered their interest, but no talks are yet to take place.

He is not the only striker who the Toffees have on their radar as a potential option for the upcoming window.

Everton are showing interest in Liam Delap, but he is also going to prove a difficult signature to land.

The young Denmark international has made an impressive start to life in the French top flight having only arrived a few months ago.

And it is his showings in France which will have convinced the likes of Everton that the 22-year-old is ready to make the leap up to a top league.

Having already spent some time in England with Arsenal, Biereth has been likened to Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy.

‘As soon as the side win the ball, he is lurking on the shoulder of the last defender looking to use his pace to run in behind,’ said journalist Jordan Campbell for The Athletic.

‘It is one of his main assets and why comparisons with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy have been made in the past.’
