Everton are preparing themselves for what is going to be an important summer transfer window.

David Moyes has already put in the groundwork by keeping the Toffees in the top flight ahead of their stadium move.

However, Everton face some difficult decisions over the coming weeks as they still need to solve their contract situation.

The Friedkins are ready to back Moyes in the market, but the club are going to have to retain some of their out-of-contract players.

With so many players set to potentially leave the club this summer, losing them all would leave Everton with a real uphill task in the market.

And it seems one of the players may have now had a change of mind over possibly seeking a move away from Merseyside.

Everton to open Dominic Calvert-Lewin contract talks

Throughout the season, Everton have been keen to hand Dominic Calvert-Lewin a new contract ahead of the summer.

However, the 28-year-old striker has not looked willing to ink any new deal with clubs seemingly interested in signing him on a free.

According to one iNews, it seems that may now have changed with talks now expected to be reignited on Merseyside.

It is claimed that Calvert-Lewin’s representatives have now personally been in contact with Moyes to seek a fresh round of talks.

With many feeling the striker was set to depart at the end of the season, there has now been fresh optimism handed to the Toffees.

Moyes is discussing new contracts at Everton this week as they look to finally make some inroads on their decisions.

It is crucial Everton retain some of these players, but they must do so on their terms despite Calvert-Lewin being labelled one of their ‘most important’ players.

David Moyes could help Calvert-Lewin back to his best

Calvert-Lewin is expected to return this weekend after his long-term injury picked up against Brighton & Hove Albion back in January.

As a result, Moyes has not been able to work much with the striker.

However, Moyes was able to get the first goal out of the 28-year-old in months during their first win together against Tottenham Hotspur.

Beto’s form now looks uninspiring and the Blues are desperate for something new upfront.

Everton will look to sign a new striker this summer, but keeping Calvert-Lewin could hand the striker a fresh start under the 62-year-old.
