Everton have seen some quality players depart Merseyside for new opportunities over the years.
One player who they must regret allowing to leave is left-back Antonee Robinson who is currently playing his football with Fulham.
Ironically, Everton are keen to sign a new left-back this summer with Vitaliy Mykolenko being their only senior option available.
David Moyes has been unable to put his stamp on the squad since he was appointed manager back in January.
The summer is going to allow the 62-year-old to bring in some players of his choosing to Everton as they look to continue the progress made under the Scot.
But Everton could have saved themselves the expense had they been able to get the best out of Robinson who has massively impressed in the capital.
However, the Toffees did do something which he was not overly impressed with during his time at the club.

Antonee Robinson shares request Everton rejected
David Unsworth slammed Everton selling Robinson for such a small fee under the watch of Farhad Moshiri.
It is one of those moves which does not reflect well on the Toffees as they could really do with some additional help in that very position.
Speaking on the Golf Life YouTube channel, Robinson admitted he was disappointed after Everton rejected his opportunity to play for the United States’ U20s side.
“When I started breaking into the team at youth-team level, I got a call from the U18s US. So, that was my first exposure of international football. For me, that was a real eye-opener and was a big kickstarter and provided a lot of belief in myself,” he said.
“It just brought something out of me and I was like: ‘Wow,’ they actually think I’m a decent player’.
“There were still coaches at Everton who could bring that out of me but, in myself, I wasn’t playing as much.
“So, after that first call-up, I was hoping to keep playing for them and it didn’t happen for a while. I was actually supposed to go with their pre-camp for the U20 World Cup. They called me up in April – outside of the transfer window – so my U21s manager at Everton didn’t let me go because it was outside of the window.”
Robinson is now wanted by Liverpool and could be a big summer signing for the Reds, which could actually hand Everton a PSR boost.
Everton hold a sell-on clause in the player’s contract with Fulham and that could see the Toffees profit a healthy revenue boost.
Everton lost a real star in Antonee Robinson
Mykolenko has been praised for his Everton displays this season having been the only senior left-back at the manager’s disposal.
However, he has done well on the whole in a stern backline.
But Mykolenko does not offer much going forward. The same cannot be said for Robinson who has excelled under Marco Silva this season.
| 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 33 |
| Minutes | 2898 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 10 |
Everton would like to hand Mykolenko a new deal, but it is a player like Robinson who could really take this Everton side forward.
The Toffees have struggled for goals in recent weeks and a creative threat from the left side would really benefit Everton’s options.
What a talent they allowed to get away.
