Everton will need to refocus in the January transfer window after already missing out on one of their main targets.
Work is needing to be done at Goodison Park as Sean Dyche is failing to turn around their current struggles this the players he has.
The Friedkin Group have identified two priority signings for this month, but there has already been a setback to one of their targets.
After returning their interest from the summer, Everton have been snubbed again by Jaden Philogene who is now set to move to Ipswich Town.
However, Everton have already turned their attention to another forward who could be signed instead of the youngster.

Everton eyeing West Brom’s Tom Fellows
With creative players needed on Merseyside, Everton are eyeing a move for West Brom’s Tom Fellows this month.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a seriously strong start to the season in the Championship which has drawn interest from the top flight.
However, according to Team Talk, the Toffees may find it difficult to land Fellows this month amid his impressive campaign for the Baggies.
West Brom are keen to keep the 21-year-old around for the remainder of the season as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.
It is not just Everton who are showing an interest in Fellows as Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace are claimed to be on the scene.
Everton are in need of some creativity in their side with Dwight McNeil still out injured after his minor issue has kept him out for almost a month now.
But this does not look to be an easy deal to work.
Tom Fellows could provide big upgrade at Everton
In Dyche’s system, Fellows would likely find himself playing on the right wing instead of the likes of Jack Harrison.
Despite setting himself big targets for the season, Harrison has really disappointed at Everton and still hasn’t returned a goal contribution.
Fellows, on the other hand, has shown an incredible amount of potential in the Championship this season.
| 2024/25 | Tom Fellows | Jack Harrison |
|---|---|---|
| Goals | 2 | 0 |
| Assists | 10 | 0 |
| Shot-creating actions (per 90) | 2.61 | 2.01 |
| Take-on success | 44.1% | 31.4% |
| Progressive yards (per 90) | 89.9 | 61.1 |
Of course, he remains unproven in the Premier League, but what he is showing in the second tier in unmatched by any other player when it comes to assists.
But his former manager Carlos Corberan had a lot of high praise to shower on the youngster.
“He’s a very quick player and can manage the right and left foot and he can beat players with the one-v-one – maybe with this description you think I am talking about the best player in the world!” he told the Shropshire Star.
The Friedkin Group have received a £289m cash boost at Everton and spending on a player who could offer a big upgrade could prove worth every penny.
