Everton talks already underway for Sean Dyche’s replacement as Fabrizio Romano issues update

The Friedkin Group have just made the ruthless decision to sack Sean Dyche hours before Everton face Peterborough United.

Everton have placed Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman in interim charge whilst they look for a permanent successor to Dyche.

Baines has stepped up from his under-18s role whilst Coleman has put his playing duties on hold to pair up with his former teammate.

The Everton captain is clearly well respected among the players and staff but it has surprised many that he’s been appointed in a managerial role.

Coleman is still a key part of the playing squad and was the starting right-back at the start of the season before suffering injury.

Anyhow, the Toffee legends will be leading tonight’s clash until a long-term manager is appointed.

With that said, Fabrizio Romano has just provided the latest on their managerial search.

Everton have already started talks to appoint Sean Dyche’s replacement

The Friedkin Group have wasted no time in identifying Dyche’s replacement as they’ve already started talks, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano has confirmed that Baines and Coleman aren’t expected to get the job on a permanent basis or even until the end of the season by the sounds of it.

Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho had been mooted as a potential target for the Friedkin’s but David Ornstein has already ruled out that hire.

Everton news understands David Moyes and Paulo Fonseca are the early frontrunners to replace Dyche and there has been some tentative talk of Lee Carsley teaming up with the former.

Everton should consider Michael Carrick

A name that hasn’t really been mentioned is Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick.

The former Manchester United assistant currently has Boro in fifth place in the Championship, playing a very attractive brand of football.

In fact, Carrick’s men are the second-highest scorers in the division only behind Leeds United, so his philosophy would certainly excite Everton fans.

However, to get Carrick out of Teeside, the Friedkin’s would need to pay a compensation fee and that might not be feasible given the club’s Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The new owners are keen to appoint a manager who’s currently out of work.
