It has been a solid start to the season for Everton, who enter Christmas inside the top half of the Premier League season.

Everton to miss out January transfer after Friedkin decision
Everton News understands that Everton held an interest in Joshua Zirkzee, with his Manchester United future looking uncertain ahead of January.
It does appear as if the striker will be on the move next month, but it will not be to Everton.
According to Gazzetta, the Friedkins have now given the green light for Roma to sign Zirkzee from Man United.
Surely Everton do not see Evan Ferguson as an upgrade on the current options! 😫
Talks with United have now begun after the decision was made by the owners to provide Gian Piero Gasperini with a new striker.
However, what this does mean is that Evan Ferguson’s return to Brighton & Hove Albion is described as ‘almost certain’.
Everton are interested in Ferguson as a potential loan signing in January following long-term interest in the Irishman.
The Friedkins may have ruled out one signing for Everton with Zirkzee, but they may have opened the door for another with Ferguson.
Everton could have their choice of Roma strikers in January
Everton News’ finance expert Adam Williams has played down any concerns over Roma and Everton hitting any issues over fair market value trading.
This comes after it was also suggested that another Roma striker was of interest to Everton.
How many goals could Artem Dovbyk score in the Premier League? 💪
He has struggled in the 2025/26 season, though…
It has been claimed that Everton have eyed Artem Dovbyk as a potential target for the January transfer window, with Roma also linked with Beto.
A move for Zirkzee may rule out Beto’s possible switch to the Italian capital, though.
Everton are keen to sign a new striker in January and it seems as if they may have their choice of two current Roma forwards in the coming days.
