Everton are almost certainly going to sign a centre-forward in the summer.
David Moyes has been ‘fixated’ on signing a new striker since the January transfer window, with the likes of Troy Parrott and Liam Delap linked.
Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth has also been linked to Everton after a productive season with the Spanish giants.
The Bournemouth manager has announced he’s leaving… 🤔
Now, there is a fresh update emerging about one of Everton’s potential number nine targets, and it’s a pretty big story.

Romelu Lukaku’s Napoli career is ‘effectively over’
Everton have actually been linked with Romelu Lukaku since the January window and it’s understood that he wants to return to the Premier League.
Italian journalist Mateo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, has now concretely confirmed that Lukaku’s Napoli career is ‘effectively over’, opening the door for the Toffees.
“The relationship between Napoli and Romelu Lukaku is effectively over. Lukaku will leave Napoli at the end of the season.
“Lukaku has effectively cut off relations with a good part of his teammates, with the sporting side, with those who manage and then make the decisions from a sporting point of view in Napoli.”
How would you feel about Romelu Lukaku returning to Everton? 🫣
Does he still have it in him? 😬
Moretto also reports that a move away from Italy is likely.
“And what I can confirm is that right now there’s a feeling that Lukaku might even leave Serie A. Yes, it’s true, the Belgian striker’s desire was to try to return to Milan, partly for life reasons, personal reasons.
“However, in Milan, the doors are closed, and right now they’re closed on both sides, on both teams, so Lukaku’s fate is increasingly distant from Italy.”
Lukaku has made just seven appearances for Napoli this season, as he’s massively struggled with injuries.
The Belgium international has only just celebrated his 33rd birthday, so if he can stay fit, the Toffees could still sign one of the best strikers on the continent.
It’ll be fascinating to see whether the Friedkin Group and Moyes decide to make a move.
